Il a eu une carriere sur 50 années en tant que MUSICIENS -CHANTEUR -AUTEUR COMPOSITEUR -INGENIEUR DE SONS et PRODUCTEUR .

De son vrai nom BLAKE BAKER CUNNINGHAN Jr , est né en 1938 à JACKSON (MISSISSIPI) . Il est issu d'une famille de musiciens . Son papa a meme enregistré sous le label SUN de MEMPHIS . Buddy Blake Cunningham Sr  "Right Or Wrong"/"Why Do I Cry" (Sun 208, 1954, credite à Buddy Cunningham) and "You Pass Me By"/"Please Convince Me" (Phillips International 3516, 1957, credite à Buddy Blake), il aurait meme fait plus de 15 titres pour SAM , jamais sortis . A 14 ans Jr donc , devient membre de la section locale des musiciens de memphis .   Il aide ensuite son pere en étant musicien de sessions sous COVER RECORD LABEL , il va meme en etre , producteur et artiste , fin 50 début 60 .

Il va avoir ensuite un band avec entres autres l'excellent REGGIE YOUNG (qui a enregistré avec ELVIS) . Il obtient ensuite des succes en 65 -67 -71 , bref il va avoior une carriere prolifique . Il va finir par revenir à MEMPHIS . Il va faire parti du groupe de JERRY LEE LEWIS en 1997 . Il sort un album solo en 2003 .
