    encore un personnage de légende qui a contribue a l'essor du rock , qui a développé le boogie , et fait connaitre le gospel a un plus large public .

    Ernest Ernie FORD ne le 13 février 1919 à BRISTOL (TENNESSEE) et décédé le 17 octobre 1991 après avoir, la même année , fait sa dernière interview pour une radio et dîner a la maison blanche (bush père) . 

    FORD démarre sa carrière à la radio WOPI à BRISTOL en tant que présentateur. 

    Il s'en va en 1939 étudier la musique classique et entre au "CINCINNATTI CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC" .. 

    Durant la 2e guerre mondiale il va servir dans les fameux bombardiers AMERICAINS b-29 (forteresse noire) au dessus du japon notamment.

    Apres la guerre FORD va de nouveau travailler en radio SAN BERNADINO - PASADENA en CALIFORNIE. Il va présenter le programme de country music BAR NOTHING RANCH. Il va en tant que disc jockey se différencier en créant, sous un pseudo (TENNESSE ERNIE), sa légende de "a Wild hillbilly», en accentuant ce cote rustre du sud .Il va devenir si célèbre dans les alentours que la grande radio locale KXLA va l'engager .

    Il va se voir faire la même émission mais en plus se joindra au "cliffie stone's popular live kyla country show" le DINNER BELL ROUND UP comme chanteur.

    Capitole le remarque et va le signer, rapidement il devient une star de la télé, dans la fameuse émission HOMETOWN JAMBOREE .

    Il va de même créer une cinquantaine de chansons dans le début des années 50 s, on en plaçant quelque unes dans les charts !

    Tennessee en devient une figure du "boogie woogie" en créant un groupe autour de lui pour renforcer sa sonorité et pofiner sa musique avec, JIMMY BRYANT guitariste, SPEEDY WEST pédale Steele.

    Il fit même un énorme titre a l'époque en duo avec KAY STARR  avec I LL NEVER BE FREE ..

    En 1955 IL VA FRAPPER UN GRAN COUP  en reprenant de façon magistral et inattendue , un tube de MERLE TRAVIS , SIXTEEN TONS  , grâce a une tonalite en dessous de la normale pour l'époque , ce morceau va sortir des sentiers habituels , ce qui aura comme conséquence  , 10 semaines n1 dans les charts . Ce titre va devenir sa marque de fabrique sans être sa chanson , une marque aussi pour DISNEY EUX-MEMES , qui vont ce l'approprié pour un dessin animée ... 

    Plus tard il va créer son propre programme sur la NBC de 1956 à 1961 (the Ford show) en innovant la encore, en imposant a la fin de chaque émission une chanson religieuse (oser pour l'époque) ; c'est lors de cette période qu’ il va employer le terme de DISC JOCKEY . 

    En 1956 il va réaliser HYMNS son premier album de gospel et va entrer dans les charts pour y rester 277 semaines consécutives, une grande victoire de sa part ... 

    Son album GREAT GOSPELS SONGS reçu même un grammy awards en 1964 

    Ensuite ERNIE déménage avec sa famille a NORTHERN (Californie); de 1962 à 1965 , va être présentateur du TENNESSE ERNIE FORD SHOW pour ABC T.V NETWORK .. 

    durant les années qui suivirent il va obtenir 3 prix du HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME  , POUR LA RADIO - TELE - DISQUES .En 1984 il recevra la PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM  et en 1990 sera introduit au 

    COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME. Il AURA AUSSI A TITRE POSTHUME UNE RECONNAISSANCE DU GOSPEL MUSIC HALL OF FAME.
